he Teaching of Literature - It deals with a concise vision about the teaching of literature from the initial question: “why to teach literature?” The authoress shows the need to form and not only to inform the pupils. Next she analyzes what must be taught and later she presents some didactic models that can be applied above all at a college course. She concludes that in a future time the simple transmission of knowledge will be of secondary importance. It will be necessary the use of methods that lead the pupils to a permanent education, to the elaboration of creative solutions to arising problems, to the work in groups, essential to our time and to the development of autor-criticism which will offer an intellectual growth. ||O ensino da literatura - trata-se de uma visão sucinta a respeito do ensino da literatura a partir da indagação inicial: “por que ensinar literatura? ” A autora mostra a necessidade de se formar e não de apenas informar os alunos. Analisa a seguir o que deve ser ensinado e, depois, apresenta alguns modelos didáticos podem ser aplicados, sobretudo no ensino Superior. Conclui que, no futuro, a simples transmissão de conhecimentos desempenhará papel secundário,sendo necessária a aplicação de métodos que habilitem o aluno à educação permanente, à elaboração de soluções criativas para problemas emergentes, ao trabalho em equipe, indispensável em nossa época e ao desenvolvimento da auto-crítica, que lhe proporcionará o crescimento intelectual.
