Visando contribuir com a compreensão de como a relação autonomia versus controle se materializa no trabalho por aplicativo, este artigo se fundamenta na apresentação dos resultados de uma pesquisa realizada na cidade de São Paulo com motoristas da Uber que teve por objetivo analisar as práticas gerenciais existentes e as condições nas quais este trabalho é realizado. Defendemos que a gerência algorítmica possibilitada pela adoção de aplicativos nos diferentes processos de trabalho está consolidando uma nova forma de gestão, organização e controle da força de trabalho, aumentando a subsunção real dos trabalhadores ao capital e radicalizando as formas de exploração e dominação do trabalho. Apesar desta forma de trabalho ser ancorada em uma liberdade aparente, por não ser pré-definido a jornada e o local para a sua realização, esta radicalização decorre do fato de que a grande capacidade das plataformas em reter e analisar dados permite que o trabalho dos motoristas seja controlado em tempo real, diminuindo a possibilidade dos trabalhadores organizarem como serão realizadas as suas atividades.Palavras-chave: Trabalho por aplicativo. Uber.||Aiming to contribute to the understanding of how the autonomy versus control relationship materializes in work by app, this article is based on the presentation of the results of research conducted in the city of São Paulo with Uber drivers that aimed to analyze the existing management practices and the conditions under which this work is carried out. We argue that the algorithmic management made possible by adopting app across the labour process is consolidating a new form of management, organization and control of the labour power, increasing workers’ actual subsumption of capital, and radicalizing the forms of work exploitation and domination. Although this form of work is anchored in an apparent freedom, for not being pre-defined the journey and the place for its realization, this radicalization arises from the fact that the platforms’ great capacity to retain and analyze data allows the work of drivers to be controlled in real time, reducing the possibility for workers to organize how their activities will be carried out.Keywords: Work by app. Algorithmic Management.
