A partir de una propuesta metodológica operativa, en relación con los recursos informativos, los usos periodísticos, las modalidades periodísticas, los discursos periodístico-históricos y la recepción del público, se abordan cuatro conflictos bélicos del siglo XX y XXI (Vietnam, el Golfo, Kosovo y Afganistán), a tenor del protagonismo de la televisión en cada uno de ellos. De este modo, nos acercamos a cómo se organizó la producción social de comunicación con el fin de que los ciudadanos de los países occidentales “contemplaran televisivamente” esas guerras y sus posibles repercusiones. El acercamiento se hace mediante la evolución diacrónica del medio televisivo en la transmisión de acontecimientos históricos bélicos y a través de la configuración mediática de noticias de gran relevancia, así como de su comparación sincrónica con cada uno de los indicadores antes mencionados. Esta propuesta aplicada nos permite evaluar cualitativamente, desde la perspectiva de la historia de la comunicación social, los procesos de significación sociocultural de la realidad construida gracias al periodismo televisivo bélico en las últimas décadas.||Stemming from an operative methodological proposal, in relation to the information resources, the journalistic uses, the journalistic modalities, the journalistic-historical discourses and the reception on the side of the public, we deal with four war conflicts in the 20th and 21st centuries (Vietnam, the Gulf, Kosovo and Afghanistan), taking into consideration the important role played by television in each of them. Thus, we approach how the social production was organized so that the citizens of the Western countries could “watch on television” those wars and their likely consequences. We approach this issue by taking into account the diachronic evolution of television in the broadcasting of war historical events and the media configuration of news of great relevance, as well as by means of a sinchronic comparison of each item mentioned above. This applied proposal allows us to assess in a qualitative way, from the perspective of the history of social communication, the processes of sociocultural meaning of reality built thanks to warlike television journalism in the last four decades.
