Resumo: Luis Buñuel é um cineasta notável na história do cinema. Célebre por sua parceria com Salvador Dali, seus filmes possuem traços distintivos que evidenciam a forma única com que o cineasta expunha sua visão de mundo. Provocador, irônico, com humor ácido e muitas vezes negro, Buñuel expunha em muitos de seus filmes sua crítica à sociedade e à burguesia, por meio de seu diálogo com o Surrealismo, em que o absurdo, o onírico e excêntrico são introduzidos na narrativa. Entre tantas produções memoráveis, neste artigo focou-se O Anjo Exterminador(México, 1962), uma vez que este filme destacase como um divisor de águas na produção de Buñuel, reunindo elementos e leitmotivcaracterísticos do diretor. Em função disso, nesse trabalho, buscou-se analisar esse filme, comparando-o às demais produções do diretor, especialmente no tocante ao Surrealismo e ao confinamento como constantes na produção de Luis Buñuel.Palavras-chave:Cinema, Luis Buñuel, Surrealismo, confinamento.Abstract: Luis Buñuel is a remarkable filmmaker in the history of film. Famous for his partnership with Salvador Dali, his films have distinctive features that show the unique way in which the filmmaker would expose his world view. Provocative, ironic and full of caustic humor, Buñuel presented in many of his films his criticism over the society and the bourgeoisie by means of his dialogue with Surrealism, in which the absurd, oneiric and eccentric are introduced in the narrative. Amongst many memorable productions, in this article we focused on The Exterminating Angel (Mexico, 1962), since this film stands out as a watershed in Buñuel’s film production, gathering elements and leitmotivs that are characteristic of the director.
