Procuramos discutir a diversidade cultural considerando as representações de identidade, espaço e tempo projetadas nos filmes de Ficção Científica (s.f). Nesse sentido, estamos considerando que tais representações são diferenciadas na e essenciais à constituição de qualquer cultura. A partir dos trabalhos teóricos da área dos Estudos Culturais e da análise dos textos fílmicos O vingador do futuro e A máquina do tempo, procuramos desenvolver o conceito de Memória do Futuro, com base em relações polarizadas: aqui e acolá; agora e depois (futuro ou passado) e eu e o outro. As análises apontam também para um movimento de resistência pautado
no aspecto informacional, determinante na constituição dos sujeitos e dos grupos.

Memory of the future and cultural diversity projected in science fiction movies
ABSTRACT: We discuss cultural diversity considering the representations of identity, space and time, projected in science fiction films (s.f.). Accordingly, we have assumed that such representations are differentiated and essential in and to the formation of any culture. From the theoretical work in the area of Cultural Studies and the analysis of filmic texts of Total Recall and The Time Machine, we have developed the concept of Memory of the Future, based on polarized
relations: here and there, now and then (future or past) and me and the other. The analysis also points to a resistance movement based on the informational aspect, determinant in the constitution of individuals and groups.
