Adorno´s concept of rationalization, that denotes the objectivist character of the rational thought, and Morin´s reference to the oversimplifying knowledge of scientifi c reason, constitute both the background context for us to raise questions about the authenticity and cultural insertion of the work of art in society. This article will partially defi ne scientism in music today, both in its creative and educative aspects, and then, point out ways in which artists can achieve a more productive aesthetic experience, that is, one that unites music to the other spheres of human life.||Desde uma perspectiva do conceito de racionalização, adotado tanto por Adorno, para designar o caráter de objetifi cação do pensamento racional, como por Edgar Morin, para referenciar o conhecimento simplifi cador do cientismo, pretende-se apontar problemas que giram em torno da autenticidade e da inserção cultural da obra de arte em seu meio. A temática proposta deverá caracterizar em parte o cientismo na música atual, em seus aspectos criativo e educativo, e então, partindo dessa refl exão, apontar caminhos para uma formação estética mais rica, subjetivamente falando, e mais produtiva, isto é, que liga a arte a outras esferas da vida humana.
