This text points out the sociocultural reflection on female gender in Virginia Woolf’s The Lady in the Looking-Glass: a Reflection. We observe that based on pre-established social concepts, several and different identity images are given to its protagonist, Isabella Tyson. Those images are reflected by the mirror fixed on her drawing-room; limited by the mirror frame, they can show off only a little part of protagonist’s universe, feeling and personality. As soon as she reveals her entire figure, we conclude that female identity is more than a mere reflected image. ||Este texto explicita o reflexo sociocultural que é dado à figura feminina no conto The Lady in the Looking-Glass: a Reflection, da autora inglesa Virginia Woolf. Observamos que Isabella Tyson, a protagonista, reveste-se de múltiplas identidades moldadas a partir de conceitos sociais pré-estabelecidos. Essas identidades atribuídas à Isabella constituem-se de imagens refletidas pelo espelho pendurado em sua sala de visitas; recortadas pela moldura do objeto, tais imagens mostram apenas parte do universo, do sentimento e da personalidade da protagonista. Sua imagem vista por inteiro revela, então, que a verdadeira identidade do feminino vai além de um mero reflexo.
