This article analyses the context in which the first chronicles on thebattle of Alcácer Quibir appeared in the western world, as well as discussesthe dialogical character present in the elaborations of those narratives.It also indicates point some circulation routes that some versions tookbetween the late 16th and early 17th centuries.||Este artigo analisa o contexto em que surgiram as primeiras crônicassobre a batalha de Alcácer Quibir no mundo ocidental, além de discutiro caráter dialógico das elaborações dessas narrativas e indicar algumasrotas de circulação que algumas versões percorreram entre fins doséculo XVI e início do século XVII.
