From issues already proposed by authors such as Pierre Bourdieu, Giovanni Levi, François Dosse and Peter Burke about biography is its close relationship with elements that constitute the memory, we seek to provide support for the questioning of these issues in the construction of Lindolfo Collor`s image through some biographical accounts of nature. Issues involving various interests and objectives in the creation and maintenance of memory on that personality, are discussed briefly biographical elements of these reports produced by intellectuals and thinkers connected with the Historical Institute of São Leopoldo, and his attempts to link the image of Lindolfo Collor with the German immigration, an important pillar on which rests the history of São Leopoldo/RS.||A partir de questões já propostas por autores como Pierre Bourdieu, Giovanni Levi, François Dosse e Peter Burke sobre o biografismo e sua estreita relação com elementos que constituem a Memória, busca-se oferecer subsídios para a problematização de tais temas na construção da imagem de Lindolfo Collor através de alguns relatos de cunho biográfico. Envolvendo questões de interesses e objetivos diversos na constituição e manutenção da Memória sobre essa personalidade, discutem-se brevemente elementos desses relatos biográficos produzidos por intelectuais e pensadores ligados ao Instituto Histórico de São Leopoldo, e suas tentativas de ligar a imagem de Lindolfo Collor à imigração alemã, um pilar importante sobre o qual se fundamenta a História de São Leopoldo.
