Este trabalho foca 15 ofícios centenários presentes na cidade de Porto Alegre/RS, Brasil. Entendemos ofício pela definição de senso comum, como “ocupação manual ou mecânica a qual supõe certo grau de habilidade e que é útil ou necessária à sociedade”, oriunda do latim oficiu, “dever”. Há inúmeras relações cotidianas relacionadas aos fazeres de ofício, mas neste artigo o recorte será o do saber-fazer e seu registro. Desde a ótica do Patrimônio Cultural Urbano, foca as permanências no tempo e no espaço destes ofícios e seu fazer - materiais, ferramentas e técnicas. Seus produtos e serviços exercidos de forma autônoma, com domínio completo do processo, transmitem o trabalho dos artífices em casa ou em suas oficinas, através de suas vidas, frases e mãos. We understand the definition of craft, common sense, as "manual or mechanical occupation which assumes some degree of skill and that is useful or necessary to society' from the Latin oficiu, "duty." There are numerous links related to everyday practices of craft, but this article will aim at the know-how process and its register. From the point of view of Urban Cultural Heritage, the article focuses on the continuities of these crafts in time and space - materials, tools and techniques, its products and services practiced autonomously, with complete mastery of the process, and the passing of the work of craftsmen in their workshops or at home, through their lives, sayings and hands.
