O objetivo do presente texto será mostrar a “pesquisadora” em seu campo de trabalho, numa etnografia marcada por dois instantes e contextos diferentes: Brasil e Portugal. Num primeiro instante a pesquisa foi realizada com muçulmanos no Brasil, onde foram analisados os processos de “conversão” dos brasileiros ao Islã. Posteriormente, a investigação se estendeu às práticas religiosas dos “convertidos”, bem como as suas inserções entre os grupos muçulmanos no Brasil e em Portugal, resultando num trabalho comparativo entre os dois países. Foram, ambas as pesquisas, marcadas pelas “diferenças”, que transformaram-se em motivação, limitações e reflexões. O “pesquisado” e “pesquisador” encontraram-se numa etnografia, ou numa “viagem”, que implicou ambiguidades e deixou marcas e sentimentos gravados. Cheiros e sensações que ficaram guardados como lembranças dos momentos em campo.Palavras Chave: Islã. Muçulmanos. Conversão.Work field: ethnographic reportsAbstractThis paper shows the "researcher" in his field into an ethnography pointed by two moments and contexts: Brazil and Portugal. At the first moment the research was with Muslims in Brazil. It analyzes the "conversion" from Brazilians to Islam. Later, the investigation was extended to the religious practices of "converted", and their inserts between Muslim groups both in Brazil and Portugal what resulted in a comparative study between the two countries. Both surveys were marked by the "differences" which turned into motivation, limitations and reflections. The "researched" and "researcher" met themselves into an ethnography, or a "trip", which implied ambiguities and left marks and feelings.
