This study aims to describe the fundamental propositions of the Interpretive Theory of Translation, or Théorie du Sens (Theory of Sense), and those of the Theory of the Effort Models in Interpretation, as well as point out the interrelations between these two theoretical models of approach and description of the interpreting process in its many modalities. For this: 1) we present the fundamental propositions of the Interpretive Theory of Translation according to the theoretical basis of Marianne Lederer (1984 e 1990), Danica Seleskovitch (1977, 1984 e 1986), and Seleskovitch & Lederer (1989); subsequently: 2) we present the fundamental propositions of the Effort Models Theory according to the theoretical basis of Daniel Gile (1995); finally: 3) we present reflections on the interrelations between these two models.||O presente estudo tem por objetivo descrever as proposições fundamentais da Teoria Interpretativa da Tradução, ou Théorie du Sens (Teoria do Sentido), e da Teoria dos Modelos dos Esforços na Interpretação, além de apontar as inter-relações entre esses dois modelos teóricos de abordagem e descrição do processo de interpretação em suas diversas modalidades. Para tanto: 1) apresentamos as proposições fundamentais da Teoria Interpretativa da Tradução segundo o embasamento teórico de Marianne Lederer (1984 e 1990), Danica Seleskovitch (1977, 1984 e 1986) e Seleskovitch & Lederer (1989); em seguida: 2) apresentamos as proposições fundamentais da Teoria dos Modelos dos Esforços segundo o embasamento teórico de Daniel Gile (1995); por fim: 3) apresentamos reflexões sobre as inter-relações que envolvem esses dois modelos.
