This article propounds to correlate the autobiographical writings by Darcy Ribeiro with the fiction of Don Quixote. Such correlation is conducted by the study of some of the narrative strategies present in the records of Diários Índios, as well as the recurrence of notions of laughter and madness in this work. Thus, we seek to highlight the close relationship between autobiography and fiction, and suggest a relationship between the utopian thought portrayal both in Darcy Ribeiro and Cervantes.||Este artigo propõe aproximar a escrita autobiográfica de Darcy Ribeiro da ficção novelesca do Dom Quixote. A aproximação proposta se opera através do estudo de algumas das estratégias narrativas presentes nos registros dos Diários Índios, bem como pela recorrência das noções de riso e loucura nessa obra. Assim, busca-se destacar a proximidade entre autobiografia e ficção, e sugerir uma relação entre as representações do pensamento utópico em Darcy Ribeiro e Cervantes.
