This paper analyzes the construction of Zarité, a character of resistance identity, in the novel A Ilha sob o Mar (2010 ), by Isabel Allende. Doubly oppressed as a woman and a slave, more frail figure in a patriarchal and slave system, and, ironically, by the social invisibility that her color and sex require, the character achieves success in her social and personal aspirations. Uses affective bonds established in moments of transcendence and displacement - both physical and imagined - that the religious rituals and dance, as spaces of staging of culture, values and alliances allow her to experience, contributing to her identity affirmation.||Este trabalho analisa a construção da identidade de resistência da personagem Zarité, no romance A ilha sob o Mar (2010), de Isabel Allende. Duplamente oprimida por ser mulher e escrava, figura mais frágil em um sistema patriarcal e escravocrata, e, ironicamente, pela invisibilidade social que sua cor e sexo lhe impõem, a personagem logra êxito nas suas aspirações sociais e pessoais. Utiliza os laços afetivos estabelecid os nos momentos de transcendência e deslocamento ”“ tanto físico como imaginado ”“ que os rituais religiosos e a dança, enquanto espaços de encenação de cultura lhe permitem vivenciar, contribuindo para sua afirmação identitária.
