Resumo
O artigo discute as implicações teórico-metodológicas do desenvolvimento de pesquisas
históricas sobre o gênero em perspectiva pós-moderna, tais como a construção dos objetos de pesquisa, a leitura das chamadas fontes primárias, o olhar sobre a historiografia e a própria explicação dos fenômenos. Trata-se de uma síntese dos desafios que os estudos de gênero de matriz pós-estruturalista oferecem aos historiadores, em especial, aos medievalistas brasileiros.

Abstract
This article discusses the theoretical-methodological implications of the development of
historical research on gender in the postmodernist perspective, likewise the construction of research objects, the readings of so-called primary sources, the examination of historiography and the explanation of the phenomena in itself. It is a synthesis of the challenges that post-structuralism gender studies pose to historians, especially to Brazilian medievalists.
