Resumo
Neste artigo, analiso a representação do bardo na poesia de Eduardo Pondal. Como muitos outros importantes pensadores da Galiza no século XIX, Pondal defendia a teoria das origens célticas da nação galaica; inspirado pelo ossianismo de James Macpherson, criou, em seus poemas, um glorioso passado céltico para o povo galego. O bardo representa, na obra pondaliana, o guardião deste passado heróico e o construtor de um futuro onde o espírito céltico irá despertar na Galiza.

Abstract
In this article, I analyse the representation of the bard in the poetry of Eduardo Pondal. Like many other important scholars of Galicia in the 19th century, Pondal was a supporter of the theory of the Celtic origins of Galaic nation. Inspired by the Ossianism of James Macpherson, he created a glorious Celtic past for the Galaic people in his poems. In the pondalian poetry, the bard represents the guardian of this
heroic past and the builder of a future where the Celtic spirit will awake in Galicia.
