This research takes as theme the relationship between the work of architecture and the discourse about it. These two poles, which initially should correspond to each other, in many times present conflicts. Departing from these statements, this study investigates the reciprocity between a work and a speech in a particular case, undeniably relevant: seeks to recognize as the architect Walter Gropius materialized his ideals, and his school’s, in its building in Dessau, making a “built manifesto”. The comparison between the written material and the built resulted in improved readability of the project, and the discovery of connections and incongruities.||Esta pesquisa tematiza a relação entre obra de arquitetura e discurso sobre ela. Estes dois polos, que a priori deveriam corresponder-se, muitas vezes apresentam conflitos. A partir de tais constatações, este trabalho investiga um caso particular, de relevância indiscutível, de reciprocidade entre uma obra e um discurso: busca reconhecer como o arquiteto Walter Gropius materializou seus ideais, e os de sua escola, na construção da sede desta mesma, em Dessau, elaborando um “manifesto construído”. A comparação dos textos do arquiteto com o edificado resultou numa melhor possibilidade de leitura do projeto, na descoberta de conexões e na denúncia de incongruências.
