This article adresses the subject of the author’s PhD thesis, regarding the architectural principles of Frank Lloyd Wright’s organic architecture and their influence on the Modern Architecture in São Paulo, focusing on the design and built work of Vilanova Artigas. This re-evaluation resumes new research by the author and some recent scholarship published regarding Artigas. From a brief fortuna critica of the historiography on Vilanova Artigas, and of how wrightian inspiration on him is discussed over time, the author resumes the principles of organic architecture and how they would have remained underlying the mature work of the Brazilian architect.||Este artigo retoma o tema de Doutorado do autor, sobre a influência formal e conceitual dos princípios da arquitetura organicista de Frank Lloyd Wright na Arquitetura Moderna Paulistana (2004), aqui especificamente na obra de Vilanova Artigas. Esta retomada é feita à luz de novas pesquisas do autor e por vários trabalhos publicados nos últimos anos. Partindo de uma breve fortuna crítica da historiografia sobre Artigas, e de como a inspiração wrightiana é comentada ao longo do tempo, o autor retoma os princípios do organicismo e como ela se manifestaria, de forma subjacente, na fase madura do arquiteto brasileiro.
