This article aims to contribute for the reflection and production of knowledge concerning artistic and pedagogic practices from the presentation and understanding of the principles that guided the creation of the Experimental Dance Group from the City of Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil. Therefore, concepts and fundaments on the bases of the model for classes and the curriculum itself, developed by the City Hall center of the City Cultural Bureau, are presented and discussed here. ||O presente artigo tem o objetivo de contribuir na reflexão e produção de conhecimento relativo a práticas artistico-pedagógicas a partir da explicitação e do entendimento dos princípios que guiaram a criação do Grupo Experimental de Dança da Cidade de Porto Alegre. Dessa forma, buscou-se apresentar e discutir conceitos e bases que fundamentaram a construção do modelo de aulas e de currículo do projeto desenvolvido pelo Centro Municipal de Dança da Secretaria Municipal da Cultura de Porto Alegre.
