RESUMOEste trabalho busca analisar o impacto da Revolução Constitucionalista (1932) no cenário político local do Rio Grande do Sul, desde os primeiros momentos posteriores à Revolução de 1930, em que elementos da Frente Única Gaúcha (FUG) já demonstravam discórdia com os rumos tomados pela política varguista, até os desdobramentos posteriores ao movimento armado, como a fundação do Partido Republicano Liberal (PRL) pelo interventor Flores da Cunha e a ida para o exílio de tradicionais lideranças políticas da Primeira República (1889-1930). Para isso, nos apoiaremos na bibliografia pertinente e, sobretudo, na análise de arquivos particulares das lideranças políticas e de periódicos da época, buscando conhecer, por meio da Análise de Conteúdo, o impacto que a guerra civil trouxe no cenário regional.ABSTRACTThis paper aims to analyze the impact that the Constitutionalist Revolution (1932) had in the local political background of Rio Grande do Sul, from the earlier times after the 1930 Revolution, in which elements of Frente Unica Gaucha (FUG) already demonstrated disagreement with the direction taken by Vargas’s politics, to the later developments of the armed movement, such as the foundation of the Partido Republicano Liberal (PRL) by the intervener Flores da Cunha, and the departure into exile of traditional political leaders of the First Republic (1889-1930). For this, we will rely on the relevant literature, and, especially, on the analysis of private archives of the political leaders and on the periodicals of the time, pursuing to know, through content analysis, the impact that the civil war brought to the regional background.
