O artigo busca, de forma preliminar, conceituar a subjetividade enquanto uma noção evocada pelo objeto de estudo das escolhas profissionais, uma vez que as teorias referentes à temática adotam concepções de indivíduo e sociedade diferenciadas, levantando a questão da autonomia do sujeito. A pesquisa bibliográfica baseou-se nos textos de Bock (1987), Ferretti (1988), Araujo (1998), Martins (2004) e Seve (1989). O estudo evidenciou a relevância da investigação do tema, como subsídio a discussões pertinentes a questão da autonomia e da liberdade do indivíduo, e permite concluir sobre a possibilidade de autonomia do indivíduo frente ao contexto real e teórico como verdadeira; apresenta-se circunscrita, mas com possibilidades de expansão, relacionada à consciência do indivíduo sobre seus condicionantes e ampliação dos sentidos pessoais para os motivos de suas necessidades.||This article seeks to conceptualize, in preliminary form, subjectivity as a notion evoked by the object of study of professional choices, given that the theories on the theme adopt varying concepts of individual and society, which raises the issue of autonomy of the subject. The bibliographic research is based on the texts of Bock (1987), Ferretti (1988), Araujo (1998), Martins (2004) and Seve (1989). The study demonstrates the importance of investigation on the theme, as a resource for discussions on the issue of autonomy and freedom of the individual, and leads to the conclusion that there is a real possibility of autonomy of the individual, faced with the real and theoretical context; it is presented as circumscribed, but with possibilities for expansion, related to the awareness of the individual on his conditioning factors, and widening of the personal senses to include the motives behind his needs.
