The objective of this paper is to present an articulation theoretical and practical on the subject individualism-collectivism, from semi-structured interviews with women in the area of community-west of Rio de Janeiro. It discusses modern individualism in this urban setting, from a historical perspective. It is concluded through interviews, that the dialogic space is a political space and helps to walk toward the individual-society dialectic. Keywords: Individualism-Collectivism-Women-Community||O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar uma articulação teórico-prática sobre o tema individualismo-coletivismo, a partir de entrevistas semi-estruturadas feitas com mulheres de uma comunidade na zona-oeste do Rio de Janeiro. Discute-se o individualismo moderno presente no cenário urbano, a partir de uma perspectiva histórica. Conclui-se através das entrevistas realizadas, que o espaço dialógico é um espaço político e que contribui para caminharmos na direção da dialética indivíduo-sociedade.
