This article seeks to think about the space of the discussions on the history teaching today, with reference to Hannah Arendt's reflections on "the crisis in education". We understand that the problems involving the teaching of History in schools are due to social problems and need to be designed within a debate involving not only pedagogical issues. Front of the policies that the 20th century us relegated, the analysis of the conditions in which the teaching of history and reflective practice need to be prioritized when it aims to promote educational advancement and allow interaction between teaching and research.||Este artigo procura pensar o espaço das discussões sobre o Ensino de História na atualidade, tendo por referência as reflexões de Hannah Arendt em “A Crise na Educação”. Compreendemos que os problemas que envolvem o Ensino de História nas escolas são decorrentes de problemáticas sociais mais amplas e precisam ser pensados no interior de um debate que envolva não exclusivamente as questões pedagógicas. Frente a políticos que o século XX nos relegou, as análises sobre as condições em que ocorre o Ensino de História e a prática reflexiva precisam ser priorizadas quando se tem por finalidade favorecer avanços educacionais e permitir a interação entre ensino e pesquisa.
