This paper brings forward the theme of music teacher education, which is discussed here
in the light of contemporary theories that have served as a basis for recent music education research
on the topic. In this sense, this work reviews different concepts and characteristics of studies
on teachers’ reflexivity, competence and knowledge base. It also presents some contributions of
studies linked to these bases of reference, already accomplished in the field of music.
Keywords: Reflexive teacher; Knowledge base; Competences||Este artigo traz como tema a formação de professores de música, discutida por meio do levantamento e reflexão sobre alguns referenciais contemporâneos que norteiam as pesquisas sobre formação docente, na Educação Musical. Neste escopo, este trabalho aborda conceitos e características dos estudos sobre o professor ‘reflexivo’, sobre competência e sobre os saberes docentes e apresenta algumas contribuições de pesquisas vinculadas a estes referenciais, já realizadas na área da Música.
