This paper intends to reflect on the conditions of emergence of meaning, which demands the research of two themes: the hermeneutics of the literary text and the reader's role before the text; themes that will be analyzed through the novel The trial, by Franz Kafka.||Este artigo propõe uma reflexão sobre as condições de emergência do sentido, reflexão que demanda aqui a pesquisa de dois temas: a hermenêutica do texto literário e o papel do leitor diante desse texto, pensados a partir do romance O processo, de Franz Kafka.
