Assunto do ensaio é uma interpretação do tratado de Muratori segundo a teoria das transformações culturais de Marshall McLuhan, autor de The Gutenberg Galaxy: The Making of Typographic Man. A utopia gesuítica do Paraguay, que iniciou em 1609, foi justamente fista por Muratori, um sécolo e meio mais tarde, como uma expressão de autêntica modernidade, entendida em sentido "tipográfico". A atividade dos gesuítas, com efeito, não é apreciada somente pela conversão ao cristianismo das populações indiígenas, mas também pela sua alfabetização e emancipação cultura.||Arogmento del saggio è una intepretazione del trattato del Muratori secondo la teoria delle trasformazioni culturali di Marshall McLuhan, autore di The Gutenberg Galaxy: The Making of Typographic Man. L´utopia gesuitica del Paraguay, che ebbe inizio nell´anno 1609, è giustamente vista dal Muratori, un secolo e mezzo più tardi, come una expressione della più schietta modernità, intesa in senso "tipografico" L´operato dei gesuiti, infatti, non è solo apprezzatto per la conversione al cristianesimo delle popolazioni indigene, ma anche per la loro alfabetizzazzione ed emancipazione culturale.||This paper presents an interpretation of Muratori´s treatise according to the theory of cultural transformations of Marshall McLuhan, author of The Gutenberg Galaxy: The Making of Typographic Man. In the middle of the eighteenth century, Muratori considered the Juesuit´s utopia of Paraguay, which began in 1609, a pure expression of modernity, intended in the "typographic" sense. He appreciated the work of the Jesuits not only for the conversion to Christianity of the indigenous people, but also for the didactic work spent on their literacy and cultural emancipation.
