O ensino de literatura ainda tem priorizado a leitura do cânone a partir da fortuna crítica estabelecida sobre as obras sem levar em consideração dificuldades enfrentadas pelo aluno atual ao trabalhar com esse tipo de texto. A partir das ideias de Paulo Freire, Antonio Candido e Leyla Perrone-Moisés o presente artigo discute a respeito da educação e do ensino de literatura e aponta algumas formas de estímulo à leitura para alunos do Ensino Médio. Considerando-se o posicionamento dos referidos autores nos quais esse estudo se baseia, percebe-se que o papel do professor está em, para além de transmitir seu conhecimento, oferecer os meios para que o estudante possa adquirir suas próprias ferramentas de análise e interpretação e ter independência para compreender qualquer texto literário.
||The teaching of literature prioritizes the studying of the literary canon from the point of view of the specialize critics without paying attention on the difficulties faced by the students of nowadays when they read the classics. The teacher’s role resides in give the means of analysis to the students, so they can get their own tools for their reviews and interpretations of the narratives they can find in their lives, besides relaying their knowledge to the young.
