The present essay describes aspects of the image of the feminine in Mário de Andrade's and Clarice Lispector's fiction. Out of that comparision emerges the clear relation of inverse symmetry between the social and cultural places assigned to woman by both fiction writers.||O presente ensaio descreve aspectos da imagem do feminino na ficção de Mário de Andrade e de Clarice Lispector. Do confronto surge nítida a relação de simetria invertida entre lugares sociais e culturais atribuídos à mulher pelos dois ficcionistas.
