With the aim of reflecting about the meaning of surrealism and the relations between art, society, and psychoanalysis, this essay investigates the philosophical and critical tenets of twomodes of conceiving the literary representation of dreams, by comparing André Breton’s works to Adorno’s book of dream notes (Traumprotokolle).||O ensaio investiga os pressupostos filosóficos e críticos de dois modos de conceber a representação literária dos sonhos, contrapondo as obras de André Breton ao livro de protocolos oníricos de Adorno, com o objetivo de refletir sobre o sentido do surrealismo e as relações entre arte, sociedade e psicanálise.
