Propõe-se analisar o processo imigratório de latinos recentemente assentados no Brasil, partindo de uma perspectiva teórico-metodológica de Abdelmalek Sayad acerca do significado de ser um imigrante e análise do discurso impresso na mídia nacional sobre a população migrante. O objetivo é avaliar se esse discurso apreende a experiência imigratória e apresenta o sonho de manutenção do projeto de se submeter a qualquer condição extrema de dificuldades para superar a pobreza do país onde partiu. Conclui que a narrativa jornalística realizada ignora tal processo, além de não conseguir, de modo geral, entender esse desejo que ultrapassa a fronteira de séculos – no qual alteram-se os personagens, mas nunca a crença de uma vida melhor.||It proposes to analyze the immigration process of Latin American recently settled in Brazil, from the theoretical-methodological perspective of Abdelmalek Sayad about the meaning of being an immigrant and analysis of the speech printed in the national media about the migrant population. The aim is to evaluate whether this speech gets the experience of immigration and presents the dream of keeping the project of undergo any extreme condition of difficulty to overcome the poverty in the country he left. Concludes that the newspaper story carried ignores this process, and can’t, in general, understand this desire that goes beyond the line of centuries - in which they interchange the characters, but never the belief of a better life.
