O trabalho traça a evolução e as transformações do tema da Idade de Ouro, como tem surgido insistentemente na cultura ocidental, desde Hesíodo, examinando três instâncias literárias importantes em que desponta com preeminência: Lewis Carroll, Dante e Cervantes. A partir desta perspectiva, indico como surge o ideal da Idade de Ouro nas memórias de Riobaldo, de maneira peculiar sua e, ao mesmo tempo, de certa forma, de maneira similar às mencionadas incidências literárias do tema. || This paper outlines the theme of the Golden Age, through its evolution and the transformations it has undergone, as it has come up, insistently, in Western culture since Hesiod. To do this, I examine three important literary sources in which it surfaces preeminently: Lewis Carroll, Dante and Cervantes. From this perspective I try to show how the ideal of the Golden Age turns up in the memories of Riobaldo, in a way peculiar to him and, at the same time, similar to how it appears in the aforementioned literary examples.
