A proposta deste ensaio é realizar uma reflexão sobre a relação dos sujeitos com as imagens visuais. Um dos suportes dessa reflexão é o mito de Narciso. Verifica-se que a fascinação pela própria imagem mata Narciso, do mesmo modo que a força e o vigor são causadoras da morte de Belerofonte, outro herói mítico. Considera-se que força e vigor são elementos da fascinação pela imagem. A teoria psicanalítica e sua construção teórica sobre a constituição dos sujeitos fundamentam a reflexão realizada. A fascinação pela imagem é finalmente compreendida como desejo, ideal e ilusão.||The aim of this essay is the relationship between the subject and the visual image. Based on Narcissus's myth, the fascination with the visual image is examined. If the fascination with his own image reflected in a spring killed Narcissus, in another myth force and vigour killed "Belerofonte" Both, force and vigour, are elements of the image fascination. The psychoanalytic theory, and its construct about subject constitution is the support to suggest the link between image and subject. Finally, the fascination of the image is seen like a desire, an ideal, an illusion.
