Mediation and interaction refer to different processes, which have long been studied by the field of communication, through which it is possible to conclude two cognitive arrays that would constitute the foundation to the epistemology of communication. This is the focus of this argument in the book Comunicação, Mediações e Interações (Mediation and Interactions), by Lucretia D'alessio Ferrara, as well as the core of this review. It also points to the manner in which such references may be related to the study of the city and to what extent the epistemological issues discussed by the author include not just communication, but the scientific production in contemporary times. ||Mediação e interação reportam-se a diferentes processos que, há muito, têm sido estudados. Por meio deles, seria possível depreender duas matrizes cognitivas que fundamentariam a epistemologia da comunicação. Esse é o foco da argumentação presente no livro Comunicação, Mediações e Interações, de autoria de Lucrécia D’Alessio Ferrara, bem como o cerne desta resenha, que ainda aponta a maneira pela qual tais referências podem ser relacionadas ao estudo da cidade e em que medida as questões epistemológicas discutidas pela autora abarcam não apenas o campo da comunicação, mas também a produção científica na contemporaneidade.
