The Brazilian Press Law has endured several changes, since the colonial period until the installation of the Republic, with the granting of articles and decrees that complemented the laws that regulated the practice of journalism, determining what could be published or not. Therefore, I seek to understand discursively how the Press Law affects the functioning of the Brazilian journalistic discourse, taking the French Discourse Analysis as theoretical framework.KEYWORDS: Jounalistic discourse.
