O artigo faz uma interpretação do conto Na colônia penal, de Franz Kafka, tomando como princípio de análise nuclear o corpo como ponto de fuga e convergência da lei e do desejo. Tomando como pontos de apoio mais relevantes a interpretação de François Lyotard e a concepção filosófica de Theodor Adorno, advogamos a hipótese hermenêutica de que a narrativa kafkiana faz uma apresentação metafórica da barbárie como inscrição punitiva da lei no corpo, constituindo o inverso da progressão formativa para a cultura e a civilização.||The article makes an interpretation of the short story “In the Penal Colony”, by Franz Kafka, taking as a principle of nuclear analysis, the body as the vanishing point and convergence of law and desire. Taking François Lyotard’s interpretation and Theodor Adorno’s philosophical conception as the most relevant support points, we advocate the hermeneutical hypothesis that the Kafkaesque narrative offers a metaphorical presentation of barbarism as a punitive inscription of the law on the body, constituting the inverse of the formative progression for culture and civilization.
