Atualmente vivemos em uma cultura muito diferente da anterior à invenção da Internet. Hoje o computador muito além de ser apenas uma ferramenta é um vetor para o ingresso em um universo paralelo onde, entre inúmeros ambientes como redes sociais, chatrooms e comunidades, existem os MUDs - mundos virtuais que introduzem o indivíduo em um espaço onde é possível viver através de um avatar, ou seja, conversar, passear, trabalhar e construir relacionamentos. Nossa hipótese é a de que nesses ambientes o sujeito pode praticar ou desenvolver algum aspecto do eu que deseje trabalhar - com mais segurança-, uma vez que no ambiente virtual o sujeito está mais protegido em suas investidas: ele não corre os riscos legais de ser punido pelos seus atos – as consequências podem ser menos desastrosas. Ao supor que a constituição do eu é efeito de sucessivas identificações que o sujeito realiza ao longo da vida, a teoria psicanalítica tem condições privilegiadas para lançar novas luzes nas reflexões que envolvem os destinos do sujeito na cultura dos MUDs. Today the computer is much more than just a tool - it is a vector for engaging in a parallel universe, where, among many environments such as social networks, chat rooms and communities, there are the MUDs - virtual worlds, domains bin the internet that introduce the individual to an area where it is possible to live through an avatar, i.e. chat, walk, work and build relationships. Our hypothesis rests on the assumption that on these environments the subject may practice or develop some aspect of the self that wishes to work - with more security-, once in the virtual environment the subject is more protected in his investments: there are no legal risks for his acts and the consequences may be less disastrous. While supposing that the constitution of the self is the effect of successive identifications that the subject performs throughout life, the psychoanalytic theory has privileged conditions for launching lights in the deliberations that involve the destinations of the subject in the culture of MUDs.
