From some records and references, this paper presents an overview ofthe musical life of the Island of Santa Catarina, Brazil, since colonial times,passing by Brazilian Empire age and the early twentieth century, until the days of radio, intending to show that the location was always attuned to thedifferent musical cultures found in different times, taking part of the Brazilian historical-musical global context.||A partir de alguns registros e referências, este artigo apresenta um panorama da vida musical da Ilha de Santa Catarina desde os tempos de Brasil Colônia, passando pelo Império e pelo início do século XX, até o os tempos do rádio, pretendendo demonstrar que a localidade esteve sempre sintonizada com as diferentes culturas musicais presentes nas distintas épocas, tomando parte do processo histórico-musical brasileiro em um âmbito global.
