Resumo:
A nossa reflexão sobre São Martinho de Dume centra-se no seu opúsculo moral intitulado Regra da Vida Virtuosa. Nesse sentido, interpretamos esta obra, que trata das quatro virtudes cardeais, como a obra de um monge, de um cristão, que tendo como mentor Séneca, nos apresenta uma reflexão moral, pois trata-se de dar conselhos / regras e, ao mesmo tempo, mostrar como a política aí se pode inscrever. Assim sendo, também a podemos compreender como um espelho de reis. Salientamos, ainda, que São Martinho, no século VI, marcou o início da cultura portuguesa.

Abstract:
Our reflection focuses on the moral work titled Formula Vitae Honestae. Therefore, we interpret this work which deals with the four cardinal virtues, as the work of a monk, a Christian who tries to give advices / rules, in a ethical point of view. His mentor is Seneca. At the same time, we shall show how the policy can be found there, being understood as a mirror of kings. We are, therefore, faced with a personality that marked the sixth century and the Portuguese culture at its roots, in a practical way.
