An original story of the investigation of a crime is evoked in this essay to address the processes and strategies of the artist's research. To observe the questions inspired by the fiction Memento by Christopher Nolan, I turn to the Poetics studies (Paul Valery, René Passeron, Luigi Pareyson and others) as well as the reports of creators (Wim Wenders and David Lynch) about the processes of conception their works.||Uma original história da investigação de um crime é evocada neste ensaio para tratar dos processos e estratégias da pesquisa de artista. Para observar as questões inspiradas pela ficção Memento (Amnésia) de Christopher Nolan, recorro aos estudos de teóricos da Poética (Paul Valéry, René Passeron, Luigi Pareyson e outros) e aos relatos dos criadores (Wim Wenders e David Lynch) sobre os processos de concepção de suas obras.
