This text presents reflections on aspects related to the intercultural processes that are manifested in the Congada, from references derived from Catholicism and from the spirituality founded on the African ancestry of Banto. The analysis focuses on the religious, cultural and social dimensions in which the celebrations of the coronation of black reigns in Brazil were constituted, as well as the unfolding of these manifestations in the Feast of Nossa Senhora do Rosario and Sao Benedito da Vila Joao Vaz, Goiania, GO. It was observed the dynamics of a black Catholicism based on the festivities of the Congada. The intercultural processes between Africans and Portuguese in the colonial context promoted the constitution of these black performances, still resilient in ceremonies of coronations of black kings and queens and in the procession of courts and embassies composed by soldiers and battalions in an atmosphere of Catholic faith, reassigned by African and Afro-Brazilian traditions.||Este texto apresenta reflexões acerca dos processos interculturais que manifestam-se na Congada, a partir da imbricação de referências do catolicismo e da espiritualidade fundada na ancestralidade africana Banto. O foco das análises perpassa as dimensões religiosa, cultural e social na qual foram constituídos os festejos de coroação de reinados negros no Brasil, assim como desdobramentos destas manifestações na Festa de Nossa Senhora do Rosário e São Benedito da Vila João Vaz, Goiânia (GO). Observou-se a dinâmica de um catolicismo negro fundamentado nos festejos da Congada. Os processos interculturais entre africanos e portugueses no contexto colonial promoveu a constituição destas performances negras, ainda resilientes em cerimônias de coroações de reis e rainhas negros(as) e na realização de cortejos e embaixadas compostas por soldados e batalhões em um ambiente de fé católica, ressignificada por tradições africanas e afro-brasileiras.
