O trabalho se divide em duas partes, evoca a vivência e menciona a forte presença de Antonio Candido num itinerário de descobertas. Parte de um anexo publicado em seu livro O discurso e a cidade para considerar um método de aproximação: Literatura e História. Aproveitando para falar de uma pesquisa em curso.||This paper is composed of two parts, recalling Antonio Candido’s life experience and mentioning his strong presence in an itinerary of discoveries. Taking as its point of departure an attachment published in the book O discurso e a cidade, this paper surveys a method of approximation – Literature and History – using the opportunity to also describe research in progress.
