As migrações têm sido objeto, desde o início do século XX, da representação cinematográfica. Muitos dos filmes foram realizados por diretores a partir de sua própria experiência migratória. Trataremos, neste texto, de abordar alguns destes filmes, de seus realizadores e outros migrantes integrados na indústria e na criação cinematográfica, mas, sobretudo, de explorar as representações cinematográfica da migração portuguesa para o centro da Europa e as obras dos realizadores/diretores/documentaristas migrantes. Concluímos que a narrativa da migração é sempre uma narratva de origem e da terra perdida; do lugar que as pessoas tiveram de abandonar e da esperança que carregam consigo de retorno ou de encontro de melhores condições de vida. Uma narratva dos dramas do quotidiano e dos grandes mitos do retorno ou de encontro da terra prometida.Palavras-chave: Representação cinematográfica. Migrações. Emigração portuguesa. Retorno.AbstractThe migrations has been a subject, since the beginning of the twenteth century, of the cinematic representation. Many of the films were made by directors from their own migratory experience. In this text, we will address some of these films, the filmmakers and other integrated migrants in the industry and in the film making but, above all, explore the cinematic representations of the Portuguese migraton to the center of Europe and the works of filmmakers / directors / migrants documentaries filmmakers. We conclude that the narrative of migration is always a narrative of the origins and of the lost ground; the place that people had to leave and hope to carry with them, of return or of hope for beter living conditons.
