The ability to write about a particular matter is straightly connected with the knowledge we have about it. From this recognition the author asserts that the teaching of composition must be specially based on the encouragement given to he student so that he makes use of the possibilities that the language can offer him as far as expression is concerned, putting aside the problem of grammar correction of the statements. Encouraged to write, the student also acquires the satisfaction for reading and, of course, he comes do dominate E grammar structures, making the teacher's work easier and allowing the pupil to write in a correct way.||A facilidade para escrever sobre um de terminado assunto esta diretamente relacionada com o conhecimento que dele possuímos. A partir dessa constatação o autor sustenta que o ensino de redação deve basear-se-predominantemente no estímulo ao estudante para que explore as possibilidades que a língua lhe oferece em termos de expressão, deixando num segundo plano a preocupação com a correção gramatical das frases. Estimulado a escrever, o estudante acaba tomando gosto também pela leitura e, naturalmente, termina por dominar as estruturas gramaticais, facilitando sobremaneira a tarefa do professor de, num segundo momento,leva-lo a exprimir-se com correção...
