The present article proposes to articulate narratives produced by melancholic discourse in the analytic setting and some of the literary narratives which focus the theme of sertão aproaching ways of constructing narrative and psychic organization strategies. We will focus the works of Graciliano Ramos, more particularly his books Infância. The first one will be taken as an ilustration of the response the subject produces facing a narcisistic investmente that, not fullfilling his goal of softening the real, formalized an alliance between lucidity (as an identitary mark) and the attitude of suspicious facing language itself. In a similar way to what Freud had said about melancholic discourse, the scenery is of a war. The description of such ‘other’ that does not accept idealization are found again, alegorically in the discourses related to the homeland and to the sertão.. Keywords: melancholy, Graciliano Ramos, lucidity, narratives.||O presente artigo propõe uma articulação entre os enunciados produzidos pelo discurso melancólico no setting analítico e algumas das narrativas literárias que tematizaram o sertão, aproximando modos de construção narrativa e estratégias de organização psíquica. Partiremos da obra do escritor Graciliano Ramos, mais particularmente do texto Infância. Alguns trechos do livro serão tomados como ilustrações das estratégias construídas pelo sujeito a um determinado investimento narcísico que, não cumprindo sua função de suavização do real, formalizou uma aliança entre a lucidez (enquanto marca identitária) e a atitude de suspeição com relação à própria linguagem. De forma semelhante ao que havia descrito Freud sobre o discurso melancólico, o cenário que comporta as relações com a alteridade é o de uma guerra. A descrição deste outro que não aceita idealizações são reencontrados alegoricamente nos discursos relativos à pátria e ao sertão. Palavras-chave: melancolia, Graciliano Ramos, lucidez, narrativa.
