O presente artigo faz uma breve apresentação sobre as crônicas produzidas por Júlio Gonçalves no periódico goês Ilustração Goana no século XIX. Conhecido como o primeiro contista em língua portuguesa em Goa, o autor também contribuiu muito com o periodismo literário local, pois criou e dirigiu esta que foi a revista literária com maior duração, assim como escreveu nela a mais importante parte de sua obra. As crônicas, gênero ligeiro que se estabelece entre o conteúdo literário e a velocidade jornalística têm também importância ainda pouco explorada na produção desse autor. ||This article presents a brief presentation about the chronicles produced by Júlio Gonçalves in the Goan periodical in the 19th Century. Famous as the first Portuguese-language Short-Story writer in Goa. The author also contributed to the periodic literary press, as he created and directed that was a longer-lasting literary magazine and situating the most crucial part of his work. Chronicles, the genre are linked between literary content and literature have the same importance as an exploration in the production of this author.
