Essa combinação de ceticismo e resistência ética, que alimenta a disposição para o humor e para a consciência do tempo presente, é sua forma de permanecer inconformado.||The author expounds the development of the positions of Drummond's poems regarding death, starting from the very first ones, when serious speculation was put between brackets, and he clung to everyday life. His jocular spirit gradually gave way to the evocation of the dead and the acceptance of the dissolution of the ego. The desire for annihilation and the obstinate hope for social renovation alternate in his works. This combination of scepticism and ethical resistance, which feeds his disposition towards humor and awareness of present time, is his way of remaining a nonconformist.
