O objetivo deste artigo é mostrar que o ensaio crítico Sobre a concepção das afasias, escrito por Freud em 1891, é o primeiro passo para a formulação de uma doutrina da representação, cujas características iniciais permanecerão inalteradas ao longo de todo o desenvolvimento da obra e cuja compreensão é indispensável para a elucidação desse amplo projeto teórico de fundamentação de uma ciência naturalista da mente, que Freud denominou metapsicologia.||The aim of this paper is to show that Freud’s Conception of aphasia is the first step towards the framing of a doctrine of representation whose main features remain unchanged throughout the further developments of his work. The right comprehension of such a doctrine is a fundamental requirement in the study of Freud’s metapsychology conceived as a naturalistic science of the mind.
