Dans une perspective interdisciplinaire, considérant l’approche faisant intervenir la science du langage et du droit, cet article discute des résultats d’une étude sur la simplification du langage juridique en tant que moyen de démocratiser l’accès à la justice, à Cruz Alta - RS. Cette étude est justifiée par le fait que la compréhension par la société des expressions juridiques pose de grandes difficultés, ce qui entrave l’accès à la justice. Les données montrent un progrès dans l'acceptation et l'exercice de la simplification du langage juridique, jusque-là pratiquement inacceptable pour les opérateurs du droit.MOTS-CLÉS: discours. Puissance||In an interdisciplinary perspective of the science of language and law, this article discusses the results of a study on the simplification of legal language as a way to democratize access to justice, under the vision of professionals in the legal context of Cruz Alta - RS. The study is justified by the fact that there is a great difficulty on the part of society in the understanding of legal expressions, which hinders access to justice. The data show an advance in the acceptance and exercise of the simplification of the legal language, previously practically unacceptable by many operators of the law.KEYWORDS: Speech. Simplification. O estudo justifica-se pelo fato de que há uma grande dificuldade por parte da sociedade na compreensão de expressões jurídicas, o que dificulta o acesso à Justiça.
