This paper presents a historical overview of the concept of dramaturgy as proposed by theater and dance, in order to elucidate the origin of the reflections on dramaturgy in Pina Bausch's dance-theater, presented in the second part of the text. This study does not cover the whole history of the concept, but offers a panoramic view of the transfor- mations and nuances of the discussions about dramaturgy in the context of the perfor- ming arts, in order to identify terms and practices that will be articulated with the work developed by the German director. Therefore, for this historical route, scholars and artists were chosen who brought definitions and discussions that will collaborate on reflections about the dramaturgical construction of the pieces created by Pina Bausch with the Tanztheater Wuppertal.

O artigo apresenta um percurso histórico da apropriação do conceito de dra- maturgia pelo teatro e pela dança, a fim de elucidar a origem das reflexões sobre dramaturgia na dança-teatro de Pina Bausch, apresentadas na segun- da parte do texto. Este estudo não abrange toda a história do conceito, ao in- vés disso, oferece uma visão panorá‚mica de transformações e nuances das discussões sobre dramaturgia no contexto das artes da cena, com o objetivo de identificar termos e práticas que serão articulados com o trabalho desen- volvido pela diretora alemã. Portanto, para o percurso histórico, foram esco- lhidos estudiosos e artistas que trouxeram definições e discussões que vão colaborar para as reflexões sobre a construção dramatúrgica das peças cria- das por Pina Bausch com o Tanztheater Wuppertal.
