The influence of F. Schelling on the theory of Ernst Bloch is unquestionable. However, hypotheses, such as those of Jürgen Habermas, suggest that this influence would have undermined the critical character of his theory, inasmuch as it would have led the author to overestimate a kind of speculative materialism, to the detriment of the conscious and intentional intervention of human praxis. Therefore, Bloch could be nominated as a Schelling Marxist, that is, closer to Schelling than to Marx. Here we intend to indicate that, on the contrary, Bloch enlarged and deepened the critical- revolutionary character of his theory by approaching Schelling's philosophy, namely his understand- ing of nature in becoming, and the corresponding conception of knowledge as an open system. Strengthened by Schelling's critical appropriation, Bloch's theory contributes in a unique way to the visualization of a theoretical horizon where, without falling into the absolutization of the subject, hope and engagement become permanently possible. Bloch, then, is a Schellingian Marx.
||A influência de F. Schelling sobre a teoria de Ernst Bloch é inquestionável. No entanto, hipóteses, como as de Jürgen Habermas, sugerem que essa influência teria prejudicado o caráter crítico de sua teoria, na medida em que teria levado o autor a sobrevalorizar uma espécie de materialismo especulativo, em detrimento da intervenção consciente e intencional da práxis humana. Por isso, Bloch poderia ser nominado de Schelling marxista, ou seja, mais próximo de Schelling do que de Marx. Aqui pretendemos indicar que, ao contrário, Bloch ampliou e aprofundou o caráter crítico-revolucionário de sua teoria ao se aproximar da filosofia schellinguiana, nomeadamente de sua compreensão de natureza em devir e da correspondente concepção de conhecimento enquanto sistema aberto. Fortalecida pela apropriação crítica de Schelling, a teoria de Bloch contribui de modo singular para a visualização de um horizonte teórico onde, sem cair na absolutização do sujeito, a esperança e o engajamento se tornam permanentemente possíveis. Bloch é, pois, antes, um Marx schellinguiano.
